if you are interested to involve in discussions with systemic approaches concerning icts, you are welcome to look at http://www.emcsr.net/call-for-symposia-2014/. the upcoming european meeting on cybernetics and systems research – a traditional hub for systems thinkers and systems engineers – (to take place 22-25 april 2014 in vienna) revolves around the crisis of our civilisational development and the reactions of different disciplines, including informatics. 

how does informatics help alleviate global challenges? positive and negative evaluations are welcome to be discussed at the conference.
