Dear all,
I still remember the conference, and cctually those of you I listened to
or talked to. I have never been before to a conference so rich in
creative and critical ideas.
I don`t know how many of you attended our secession. Johan Söderberg
presented an intriguing paper on 3D printing. Well, Johan is always
intriguing. When, I read his book, Haching Capitalism, I was so
impressed that I searched for him in the internet, found his phone,
called him and thanked him for the wonderful book he had written. If you
have not read it, please do it.
Anyway, someone asked a question Johan about the range of material that
can be used in 3D printing. I was checking today Shapways' Website, a
commercial 3D printing company.
They use the following range of material, White-Strong, Aluminium,
Acrylic-based photopolymer, plastic, silver, steel, sand, ceramic and
glass. I think big corporations that have more advanced 3D printers use
even a wider range of material.
The open source 3D printing which uses a far less advanced technolgy, to
my knowledge so far can only use plastics.
all the best
Jakob
